Man dies after balcony fall
A 37-year-old man has died after falling from the balcony of a nightclub in Strabane.
Kevin McBride died in the incident at Dicey Reillys in Market Street, Strabane, shortly before 2am today.
His sister, Dolores, described him as “a loyal brother, a loving bother, a loving uncle and a loving son.”
Police are investigating how the accident happened.
They are appealing to anyone who was in the nightclub and witnessed what happened to contact them.
Sinn Féin MLA Michaela Boyle says people in Strabane have been left “completely stunned at what has happened.”
“The deceased was hardworking, friendly and very well liked and there is a palpable sense of disbelief and deep sorrow at his tragic death.
“This is a close knit community and undoubtedly great efforts will be made to rally around and provide comfort to the family in the difficult days ahead.”
She says her thoughts “and the thoughts of the local community, are very much with the deceased’s mother, father, sister and extended family circle at this time of unbearable grief.”
