Man has nose broken in Derry assault

A man has had his nose broken in an assault in Derry.

Police say the 29 year old man and a 27 year old woman were attacked in the Rock Road area of the city in the early hours of Sunday (May 13).

“Shortly before 2am a 29 year old man and a 27 year old woman were attacked by a group of unknown persons. The man received a broken nose and required a number of stitches to his face. The woman was not injured but had her mobile phone taken during the incident,” a PSNI spokesman says.

Anyone who witnessed this assault or anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police in Strand Road on 0845 600 8000. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
