Man arrested in dissident probe released

A 31-year-old Derry man arrested as part of an investigation into dissident republican activity in the city has been released without charge.

Police say the man was released last night ( May 31).

He had been arrested yesterday morning following the search of a house in the Beechwood Avenue area of Derry.

It is believed the arrest is in connection with the investigation into a dissident republican Easter Rising commemoration event held in the City Cemetery in 2009 at which a masked man read out a statement.

He had been held in the PSNI’s serious crime suite in Antrim
