Money stolen from Derry chapels

Money has been stolen from two chapels in Derry.

Police are appealing for information after money was stolen from a candle shrine at St. Patrick’s Chapel, Buncrana Road.

Money was also stolen from charity boxes after a prayer room was broken into at St. Brigid’s Church in Carnhill.

Meanwhile police are also appealing for information following a theft from a car parked outside St. Brigid’s Chapel Carnhill on Sunday, December 2.

Sometime before 5.30pm, a rock was thrown through the rear window of a car in the car park and a purse was stolen from the vehicle.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed these incidents or has any information to contact police in Strand Road station on 0845 600 8000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
