The mother of Andrew Allen, who was murdered by RAAD (Republican Action Against Drugs), says she has now lost another son after dissident republicans ordered her son Daniel to leave the city.

The news comes less than nine months after the death of Andrew Allen in February.

Speaking to the ‘Journal’ yesterday, Donna Smith said; “At the minute myself and Daniel are very angry. Daniel is 26, with three young girls. They have already lost their uncle and now they are losing their father as well.

“I have two other sons and two daughters and I just keep thinking are they going to take my family out one by one.

“Enough is enough.”

She continued; “We just want to grieve in peace but they won’t let us. I feel we are being targeted because we are speaking out against those who murdered Andrew.

“But we want justice for Andrew; he deserves justice.”

Donna continued; “There is a lot of graffiti going up around the city but this is not in our name. I would ask those who are doing it to stop.

“In fact, we have been going out as a family to paint over the graffiti.”

In the meantime, Donna is hoping that those who have ordered Daniel to leave Derry will meet with SDLP MLA Pat Ramsey to try and sort out the situation.

“I have to hope that Daniel will one day be allowed to come home. And I want to know the reasons why this group have ordered Daniel to leave.

“At the minute they have given us no reason or explanation.”

Local SDLP MLA Pat Ramsey said, “Exiling is simply wrong.”
