A family in Messines Park in the Pennyburn area of the city had a narrow escape yesterday afternoon when a four wheeled drive vehicle crashed into their garden.

The incident happened shortly after 4pm yesterday when the vehicle crashed into the front garden of a house.

The homeowner said it was lucky no-one was injured. “I was about to take my niece out to the play park when it happened.

“If it hadn’t started raining I would have been putting her into the back of the car at the time.

“Motorists often use Messines Park as a short cut instead of going to the lights on Racecourse Road and we have been calling for speed bumps to be put in,” she said.
