Nathan to enter 'Dragon's Den'

The well-known marketing officer at the Alley Theatre in Strabane, Nathan Flatman, is to feature in a NI version of the BBC's 'Dragon's Den'.

Nathan is busy preparing to face six top Northern Ireland executives with his pitch for funding for a new schools’ drama festival, which is set to run at the Alley next year.

The scheme is being run by Arts and Business NI, a group dedicated to promoting investment in the arts from UK companies as Nathan explained: “Part of the two-day training session in making the perfect pitch which will involve making a presentation to a group of ‘Northern Ireland Dragons’, many of whom will be potential funders for the Alley Theatre and our various arts projects.

“The winner of the overall best pitch will win 1,000 for their respective organisation. However, we sincerely hope, on the day, to make long lasting business relationships with the ‘Dragons’, who could potentially help the Alley fund even more community focused arts, music and drama festivals.”

The Alley Theatre, Strabane, opened its doors to the public in March 2007 and since then has become one of the leading Northern Ireland theatres and gallery spaces, leading the renaissance of arts venues in the North in the last five years. The award-winning venue consists of a 270 seated state of the art auditorium, a gallery space, caf bar, tourist information centre and also hosts the famous “Ambrose the Pig” sculpture in the Alley’s outside piazza space.
