Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper has welcomed the erection of new street signs in the Bogside.

He said: “New street signs for addresses along Rossville Street, Columbcille Court, Kells Walk and Glenfada Park is good news.

“The lack of street signs in the area was causing confusion for tourists looking for the Museum of Free Derry, essential services, taxis, and for delivery drivers who delivered goods to wrong addresses.”

He added: “I also welcome confirmation from DRD Roads Service that the long awaited residents’ parking scheme which will incorporate a large section of Bogside has now been passed by the Minister.

“However, I am still concerned the scheme will not be implemented until next year. There is no reason why the process could not accelerated given the amount of time residents have already had to wait.”
