New Irish school at heart of Magee expansion plans
The Magee campus is the venue for the first public consultation session on Tuesday on the new review of health and social care in Northern Ireland.
Derry will have a new school of Irish language and literature in time for the City of Culture year.
Expansion plans announced today by the University of Ulster will see a new school of Irish Literature and Language take in its first students next year.
The school of nursing at Derry’s Magee campus will also be expanded but the University has confirmed history courses currently on offer at Magee will move to Coleraine.
All 322 extra places announced for Magee yesterday will be allocated to deliver science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects.
