Ordination of Daniel McFaul

The ordination of Daniel McFaul will take place this Sunday 6th July at 3 p.m. in St. Eugene's Cathedral, Derry. All parishioners are welcome to come along. Daniel's first Mass will be celebrated in Muff on Monday 7th July at 7.30 p.m., Iskaheen on Tuesday, 8th July at 7.30 p.m. and he will celebrate Mass in the Community Centre, Quigley's Point on Saturday 12th July at 8 p.m.

The Naomh Padraig Sports' Day has been postponed until Sunday 20th July because of Daniel McFaul's ordination. A great day's fun for children and adults. More details later.

The Inishowen Romanian Fund is holding its annual sports day next Sunday, July 13th in Faulkner's Field, Quigley's Point, starting at 2pm. All the usual events, come along and enjoy a great day out.

The G.A.A. Summer Camp will take place at Naomh Padraigh, Ture from this Monday, 7th - Friday 11th. The cost is one child 65 euro, two or more children 50 euro each. For details and booking contact Michael McMenamin, 9383018 or Joe McLaughlin, 9383312.

There was no jackpot winner last week in the Quigley's Point Community Centre/R.C.D. Limited mini lotto draw. The winning numbers were 2, 9, 22, 24 and the four 15 euro winners were: Alana McDaid, Redcastle, Oberon Dean, Redcastle, Laura McGee, Drung and Eileen Doherty, Tullynavin. The jackpot tonight will be 2,375 euro.

A live stage show will take place this Sunday, 6th in the Redcastle Hotel. Sing along with all these favourite characters, Barney, Fireman Sam, etc. Doors will open at 1.30 p.m. with admission 10 euro and a family of five 40 euro.

The annual Blessing of the Graves will take place in Drung on Sunday 27th July at 3 p.m. The Blessing in Muff on Sunday, 10th August at 3 p.m. and Iskaheen at 5 p.m.

Sympathy is extended to Jeanette McLaughlin and family, Gortanny on the death of her father Jimmy Grant, recently. May he rest in peace.

The George Faulkner Memorial Cup Grand Cycle will take place on Sunday 6th at 10 a.m. leaving Callaghan's Bar. Contact Marilyn, 086 1096399 for more information.

Serenity House, Moville is organising a day trip to Sligo, with a trip on the Rose of Innishfree tourboat to view the Isle of Inishfree which is situated on Lough Gill. Contact Serenity House, 9382945 for details.

The Inishowen Agricultural Society 96th Annual Show will take place on Saturday 19th July in the showgrounds at Tulnari, Carndonagh. Entries can be made in the following classes - horses, donkeys, cattle, sheep, goats, dogs, butter, eggs, honey, fruit, vegetables, flowers, pot plants, cakes, scones, home industries, dog show and children's pet show.

Community bingo continues every Saturday night in St. Mary's Community Hall, Muff at 9.15 p.m. sharp.

A dance in aid of the Alan Doherty Fund will take place on Saturday 12th July in the Malin Hotel. Music by Inishowen Smokey and the Bandits. Tickets cost 5 euro or just pay at the door. Raffle and spot prizes on the night. Please support this worthy cause.

A youth club has started in Greenbank Hall for young people of secondary school age, led by the Exodus Youth Team and will run each day until 11th July. There will be food, sports, beach, music, cinema, barbeque, paint-balling, etc. Everyone of secondary school age very welcome.
