Pensioner’s motorbike stolen

A 77-year old pensioner’s motorbike has been stolen in Derry.

Police say the pensioner from Belmont Crescent, used the motorbike every day to carry out errands.

“Sometime between 11pm on 1st October and 8.30am on 2nd October the red coloured Honda C90 Motorbike was stolen from the driveway of the property,” a PSNI spokeswoman says.

“The owner of the bike is 77 years old and he used the bike every day for his errands.

“The bike was unique in that it was twenty years old and the owner had made a customised top box for the rear of the bike to store goods in. The theft has been a considerable loss to the owner.”

Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen the bike, registration HXI 2375, or knows of its whereabouts to contact Police at Strand Road station on 0845 600 8000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
