Police appeal after Caw break ins

Police in Derry are appealing for information after several burglaries and break-ins in the Caw area of the city over the weekend.

A PSNI spokesman said the area was targeted between Friday night and Saturday morning,

“At approximately 7.30am, police received a report of a burglary in the Clearwater area. A house had been entered and a TV, laptop, phones and a purse had been stolen. The keys of a black VW Polo were taken from the house and the car was also stolen.

“At approximately 11.30am, police received a report of a burglary in the Bayview Gardens area. A phone was taken from this house.

“At approximately 2.00pm, a car was reported broken into in the Rosswater area. Nothing was taken.

“Police also received a report that a phone was taken from a house burglary in the Rosswater area.”

The spokesman added:”CID in Strand Road would advise the public, especially in the Caw area, to report any similar incidents to police as soon as they can. Anyone with any information about these incidents are asked to contact CID in Strand Road Police Station on 0845 600 8000.

“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
