Police hunt dead dog’s owner

Police in Derry say they have found a dead dog in a house in the Waterside area of the city.

A PSNI spokeswoman says police were alerted to a house in Margaret Street on Sunday after receiving reports of a “of a foul smell and infestation of flies at the house.”

Police are now trying to track the dog’s owner.

“It is believed the dog may have been dead for some time,” the spokeswoman says.

“Police are appealing to anyone who may be able to identify the owner of the dog or has any information on the whereabouts of the owner.”
