An investigation is underway into the “unexplained” death of a Derry born model in Scotland.

Caoimhe Gault (25) was found dead on March 1 in Dundee, where she was a mental health student at Abertay University.

Caoimhe was born in Derry but grew up in Enniskillen.

The aspiring part time model was understood to have been due to start a new job at a hospital in London within the next few weeks. Her distraught mother Tara Gault posted a poignant message on Twitter that the “soul of her life” had died. She stated: “My heart is broken – she was my world. I’ve lost my daughter, friend and soul of my life.

“She was ready to take on the world, but it was not to be RIP.”

Tayside Police are continuing their enquiries into the young student’s tragic death. But it is understood that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. A spokesperson said: “This death is being treated as unexplained and as with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
