Roe Mill Road closure

SDLP East Derry MLA John Dallat has urged motorists and pedestrians to be patient during the 10-week road closure of the Roemill Road in Limavady as the sewer system is upgraded.

The road closure policy will be in operation and vehicle access will be restricted on Roemill Road from 27th July.

Mr Dallat said: “This work is vital to ensure that Limavady has the capacity to deal with the increasing demand placed on the sewerage system which needs to be upgraded urgently if we are to avoid serious problems in the future.

“These schemes inevitably bring inconvenience and parents in particular need to explain to their children the dangers of playing near or around road works or construction sites.

“Some people may find that access to properties is restricted but I am assured by NI Water that this will be kept to a minimum.

“It is important to realise that the highest possible standards of health and safety must operate at all times and every possible source of danger must be addressed. This means that people must comply with the wishes of those charged with ensuring there are no mishaps.”
