Two female shop workers have been left badly shaken after an armed robbery in Derry.

Police say three men - armed with an iron bar and a handgun - robbed the shop at Bracken Park on Sunday night.

“At around 9.15pm three males armed with an iron bar and a handgun entered the shop and demanded money. They fled empty handed in the direction of Fergleen. Two female shop assistants were not injured but were left badly shaken by the incident,” a PSNI spokeswoman says.

The males were all wearing hoods covering their faces.

One was wearing a black and red coloured Liverpool FC jacket with Adidas and Carlsberg logos on the back.

The second male was wearing a light grey top with blue collar markings and light grey tracksuit bottoms. The third male was wearing a grey and green coloured jacket top.

Police are asking anyone who saw the males in the area between 9pm and 9.45pm to contact Detectives at Strand Road on 0845 600 8000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
