Support the Culmore Sports Day
The Committee of Culmore Festival presents Culmore Sports Day this Sunday, 23rd August at Culmore Football Pitch from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
There will be a selection of a bouncy castles, games, face painting, pet show, bonny baby contests, races, fun races, barbecue, football competitions, penalty kick, balloon modellers, drum circle and compere will be Billy Carlin. At night in the Magnet there will be a Karaoke Queen/King competition Before that on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be creative art in Culmore Primary School and a Children's Treasure Hunt starting of at Church of Ireland at 1.30 p.m. finishing up at Culmore Primary School for refreshments at 3 p.m. come to Culmore this weekend for what promises to be a great weekend for all ages.
There was still no winner of the jackpot last week in the Quigleys Point Community Centre/RCD Limited main lotto draw which now stands at a staggering 6,425 euro The winning numbers were: 1:5:10:20 and the four 15 euro winners were: John Duffy, Ballyargus, Martin Curran, c/o Brendan's Shop, Annemarie Lafferty, Clunelly and Eileen McGowan, Redcastle.
A sponsored cycle will take place on Sunday, 6th September leaving from SuperValu at 10 a.m. There will be a few different routes to suit all abilities. All proceeds in aid of the Foyle Hospice and Donegal Hospice. Sponsor cards available or you can pay 10 euro (adult) or 5 euro for a child with registration on the day. Innishowen Development Partnership has recently become an ECDL accredited test centre and will be offering ECDL training on a part-time basis to unemployed people between the ages of 18-55. ECDL is aimed at those who have basic computer knowledge and want to further their skills in IT. This programme will run for 14 weeks and will involve a maximum commitment of 2, 3 hour sessions per week. Each programme will have a maximum of 13 participants and will be held in the IDP Offices in Buncrana and Carndonagh. Due to the limited number of places available selection for participation on this course will be by application for only. As part of the "Alive Strategy" to combat suicide in Buncrana and Inishowen a family support group has commenced. The group is open to those family members bereaved through suicide.
The meetings will take place in the Inishowen Partnership Offices in St. Mary's Road, Buncrana on the second and last Thursday of each month commencing at 7.30 p.m. Further information is available from Denise McCool at the Inishowen Partnership on telephone 0749362218.
