Teen left unconscious after unprovoked assault
A teenager has been knocked unconscious in an unprovoked attack in Derry.
Police say the attack occurred on the Strand Road during the early hours of Sunday October 21.
“At around 1.50am, an 18 yr-old male was head butted and knocked unconscious in an unprovoked attack by another male,” a PSNI spokeswoman says.
“The assailant ran off in the direction of Clarendon Street and was wearing a striped T-shirt. The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for injuries to his face.”
Police say the area was busy with people at the time of the attack and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them. They are particularly keen to speak to the man who reported the incident.
