Tidy towns Church Gate collection
There will be a church gate collection this week Sunday 30th August, outside St Pius X Church Moville proceeds in aid of Moville Tidy Town. Please give generously.
With the addition of the planters on the Square our annual expenditure has increased significantly. In the past we have relied heavily on business donations to help pay for bedding plants, paint for the seating areas and shelters on the green and to run the garden competition. In the current economic climate we have been left with insufficient funds and volunteers to run the garden competition or to complete painting of the shelters. If you would like to help in any way the next meeting of the tidy town committee is in Serenity House at 6.30pm on Tuesday 1st September.
The Winners of the Serenity House August Raffle were: 1st Prize, Painting by Jimmy McLaughlin, was won by Barry Folan, North West Housing; 2nd Prize, Patchwork Quilt, donated by the Serenity Quilters was won by Frank McLaughlin, Carrownaff; 3rd Prize, Table Lamp, donated by Serenity House was on by Marie McKinley, Manor Court, Moville.

A Sponsored Cycle will be held on Sunday, 6 September. It will leave from SuperValu, Carndonagh at 10am. There will be 4 different routes to suit all abilities. Route one: 3 miles (suitable for children accompanied by an adult); Route two: 13 miles; Route three: 24 miles; Route four: 40 miles (Carndonagh – Moville – Shrove – Cooks Hill – Kinnego Bay – Culdaff – Malin – Carndonagh). All proceeds in aid of the Foyle Hospice and Donegal Hospice. Sponsor cards available, or you can pay 10 euro (adult) or 5 euro (child) registration on the day. County Donegal Historical Society will hold their last Field Day of 2009 in Derry on August 30. Historical areas of the plantation city will be visited, with Dr William Kelly as Guide.
