Tough start to New Year as water supplies go missing
No running water since Christmas Day and water supplies have still not been restored to a number of homes.
This was experienced by householders in the Glackmore and Iskaheen areas of Muff. Many homes in the Ardmore area also experienced a cut off for for several days over the Christmas period.
The Donegal County Council have issued an appeal to owners of unoccupied houses in the area to check for burst pipes as this is adding to the water level dropping in the reservoir and even though they turned the water off most nights in the hope of preserving it, this didn't help the situation in the affected areas causing great hardship to the residents concerned, particularly over the festive season.
