V/Formation, Ed Zealous and Skruff set to share Limelight

ON Thursday (July 19) The Limelight, Belfast, will be playing host to 'V/Formation', 'Ed Zealous' and 'Skruff' (9.30pm). Admission £5. (drinks promotions/ F Visuals).

Formed in Belfast just two years ago, and now based in London, V/Formation are already making huge waves around the UK.

Their brand of eclectic indie rock melodies and floor-pounding rhythms have seen them share the stage alongside The Futureheads, Guillemots, and Graham Coxon.

2006 saw the release of their foot-stomping debut 'Little Heart' on Double Dragon Music.

This year has seen V/Formation with a full UK University tour as main support to fellow Irish rockers Ash. The band are planning on entering the studio again this summer with a release planned for late 2007 and have recently been out on another string of live shows around the UK.

Ed Zealous spent their formative months in 2005 recording and rehearsing in an industrial complex in East Belfast. The seven-track demo which arose from these sessions took little time exposing the band to a wide new audience, securing them support slots across the UK with the likes of Razorlight, The Chalets, The Stranglers and The Ordinary Boys.

A management deal followed soon, with former Van Morrison/The Verve patron Willie Richardson. A batch of newly recorded material is currently awaiting release, with comparisons already drawn to luminaries such as Modest Mouse and David Bowie.

Derry boys Skruff, though relatively new to the Belfast live music scene, are making a lasting impression on local audiences. Their singular blend of post punk and electro rock has already won them widespread acclaim and radio play throughout Ireland and England by DJ's such as Tom Ravenscroft for Channel 4 radio and George Lamb for BBC 6 Music. Having recently supported Shaun Ryder of The Happy Mondays and The Twang, Skruff continue to impress music lovers further afield.
