Vandals target Apprentice Boys statue

A statue of George Walker at Derry's Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall - the governor of Derry during the Siege - has been attacked by vandals.

A plaque dedicated to the 13 Apprentice Boys who closed the gates in 1688 has also been damaged in the overnight attack.

Police say they are investigating the attack.
