Woman with knife attacks youths

A group of youths have been attacked in Derry by a woman brandishing a knife

Police say the incident occurred at around 4:30am on Sunday ( September 2) in the city’s Craft Village.

“At around 4.30am a woman armed with a knife approached a group of youths and started acting aggressively,” a PSNI spokeswoman says.

“A 25 year-old male was struck by the knife and sustained a minor cut to his hand. The woman then made off in the direction of Fahan Street.”

The woman is described as being in her late thirties, large build with blonde hair and was wearing a white top.

Police are appealing to anyone who saw the woman or can help identify her to contact them at Strand Road station on 0845 600 8000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
