Woman faces wounding charge

A Shantallow woman has appeared in court charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Kevleen McLaughlin, 21, of Carranbane Walk is charged in relation to an incident over the weekend.

The investigating officer told Derry Magistrate’s Court he believed he could connect McLaughlin to the charges.

McLaughlin was released on her own bail of 1000 and ordered not to have any contact with the alleged injured party or any witnesses in the case.

Further conditions imposed include staying out of the Cornshell Fields area and to sign weekly at Strand Road police station.

District Judge Barney McElholm warned McLaughlin not to send text messages or post messages on any website for the alleged injured party.

"If you make any contact whatsoever in any fashion there will be a breach of bail."

McLaughlin was released to appear again on August 6.
