A new, public art gallery will open tomorrow night in London Street.

The London Street Gallery has been created by the Culture Company to showcase the work of both high profile and new local artists throughout the year and has been generously gifted to the Culture Company by the Inner City Trust, which has refurbished one of its most prestigious buildings in London Street, in a prime location within the Walled City.

Helen Quigley, Managing Director of The Inner City Trust, said: “Our building on London Street is a fantastic venue for a gallery, and we are happy for the Culture Company to utilise this building in such a beneficial way. We see this as yet another initiative which breathes new, cultural life into the centre of Derry-Londonderry.”

Noelle McAlinden, of the Culture Company said: “We are delighted to be able to open a new Gallery that will be dedicated to supporting and promoting our visual Arts and supporting our individual artists.” The first exhibition at The London Street Gallery is ‘Off the Cuff’ promoting the work of Fashion Design and Media students.
