Lottery vote for local charity

Mayor Maurice Devenney has pledged his support for the Praxis Care-Garden of Eden project and is encouraging the public to vote for them in the Big Lottery People’s Million Fund today, Tuesday June 28.

Pledging his support, the Mayor said he hoped the people of the city would do all they could to support the local charity in the campaign.

“If the Garden of Eden Project is successful it will have a real and positive impact on the local community and benefit people who avail of care provided by Praxis,” he said.

To lend your support to the project, you can post a link on your facebook page or twitter, encourage your family, friends and work colleagues to vote and show your support via the People’s Millions website - www.peoplesmillions.org.uk/2011-finalists/utv/garden-of-eden.

The project will be featured on UTV’s regional evening news programme between 6 and 6.30pm this evening.

The Mayor added:“You must vote between 9 am and 12 midnight on Tuesday, June 28. Come on and show your support to this local charity who provide much needed care to those with learning disabilities across the Council area.”
