X factor judge Louis Walsh has visited Derry to attend a special event at the NWRC.
During the visit, held as part of the NWRC enterprise workshops Louis spoke to students about his rise to fame in the music industry.
And he said the biggest piece of advice he could give them was to be persistent.
Walsh is renowned for managing some of the biggest acts to come out of Derry including Johnny Logan and Nadine Coyle.
But he was surprised to be reunited with one of his acts from the showband era.
Johnny Murray, a well known musician in the town was managed by Louis when he was a member of the band The Trend.
Despite the passage of time Louis remembered Johnny and how he would often get him gigs for upcoming musicians in Derry.
“Johnny is old school, and a great talent,” he said.
