1p.m. The Glassworks. Friends and pupils of Dinny McLaughlin will join him on stage for Fiddlers of Aileach, a celebratory concert to mark the launch of a new film and album in honour of his work.

3.30 p.m. Old style step dancing at Waterloo Square.

4 p.m. St Columb’s Hall, CD Launch with Enda Seery.

6.30 p.m. Vincent Doherty launches his CD ‘The High Walls of Derry’ at St Columb’s Hall.

8 p.m. The Venue, the Transatlantic Fleadh, a spectacular one-off event with Jerry Douglas, Dan Tyminski, Tim O’Brien, Arty McGlynn, Eddie Reader, Karen Matheson, Michael McGoldrick and lots more. Unmissable.

8.30 p.m. Pádraig Lalor launches his CD ‘Ismay’s Dream’ at St Columb’s Hall.

9 p.m. RTÉ Radio 1’s long-running traditional music programme ‘The Long Note’ broadcasts live from Derry.

10 p.m. Music by the Johnny Reidy Céilí Band at the Guildhall.

10:30pm The Glassworks. Recently-reformed modern folk legends Flook are joined by Chicago’s fiddle great Liz Carroll
