The Northern Ireland Ireland Fire and Rescue Service have declared a ‘major incident’ at a highly popular restaurant in Derry City centre.

A fire started in the premises on the riverfront in Derry a short time ago. Four fire appliances are currently in attendance and the area has been cordoned off. By standers say smoke is billowing from the premises and there is a strong smell of burning in the area.

Flats in the complex above the restaurant are also being evacuated.
