A man has been rescued from a fire in a ground floor flat in Derry.

Around 15 fire fighters attended the fire shortly after 3am this morning (June 6) in the Rosemount area of the city.

“Fire-fighters wearing breathing apparatus forced their way into a flat in Argyle Terrace in the Rosemount area of Londonderry and removed a man from the premises,” a Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said.

“A hosereel jet, a covering jet and a positive pressure ventilation fan were used to deal with the fire while the casualty was treated by ambulance personnel at the scene.”
