Man shot in Derry

A man has been shot in the Brandywell area of Derry.

A PSNI spokeswoman says the 36-year old was shot a number of times in both legs after a number of men entered a house on Lecky Road at around 11:30 pm last night ( July 7).

“At approximately 11:30pm, police received a report that a male had been shot a number of times in the legs,” the spokeswoman said.

“It is believed a number of men entered a house in the area and shot the 36-year-old male a number of times. He was taken to hospital for gunshot wounds to both legs which are not believed to be life threatening at this stage.”
