Detectives are investigating an armed robbery at a shop on the Drumsurn Road in Drumsurn on Friday 25th November.

Two men, one armed with a knife and both wearing balaclavas, entered the shop at around 11.15am on Friday and demanded money from a female member of staff. A sum of money was handed over and the two men then left the shop and got into a blue Peugeot car displaying no number plates and left the area.

Both men were said to be aged in their early 20’s and wore dark clothing. The member of staff was not injured

Detective Inspector Chris Millar has appealed for anyone with any information about this incident to contact detectives at Coleraine on 101 quoting reference number 434 25/11/16 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Local Sinn Fein councillor Brenda Chivers said the entire community was shocked by what happened.

Colr. Chivers said her heart went out to the staff member “who had to deal with the low life”.

“I know what she is going through as I had the terrible experience of the same. If anyone has any information please pass it on to the PSNI, or whoever you feel comfortable doing so,” sad Colr. Chivers. “These people do not think that we are just doing a day’s work but, in a blink, they can change that person’s life.”
