With personal reasons for supporting ‘Slide On’, local insolvency firm McCambridge Duffy are looking forward to the event next month.
Speaking to the ‘Journal’, Ronan Duffy said: “A few of our team are registered to take part, so they’re all really excited about the event.
“I’m in two minds about whether to do it, but my kids and wife are encouraging me, with the word ‘chicken’ being used!”
On a more serious note, the firm have chosen to sponsor the huge charity event because members of their team have been touched by cancer. Ronan explained, “Three members of our staff have had cancer. Unfortunately one has since passed away, but two have beaten it. So we know how important cancer research is, and are delighted to be helping the ‘Slide On’ event.”
The firm have also seen how cancer can affect their clients.
Ronan said: “We have worked with people who have needed our professional help after a cancer diagnosis.
“If they have to stop working as a result then they can see their earning income stop or change and this is very stressful to deal with on top of an illness. “
