McLaughlin welcomes childcare announcement

Maeve McLaughlin said; “Sinn Féin has been lobbying on behalf of women, their families and the women’s sector for this fund to be continued for another year to protect this essential childcare service.

“On Monday we met with the DSD Minister and pressed on him the need for it to be protected along with funding for Neighbourhood Renewal Programmes.

“I have spoken to many women and representatives from the sector over several months and they all expressed concern that the positive impact from the WCCF would be lost if a gap were to happen.

“I’m delighted their consistent lobbying has paid off and that women and their families will continue to benefit from this service.”
