A meeting will be held on Thursday to form a campaign group to lobby for a detox centre to be built in Derry.
The meeting had been organised by the Civil Rights Veterans’ group and will be held at the organisation’s office at Crawford Square on Thursday evening.
Fionnbarra O Dochartaigh from the group said the meeting is designed to establish a collective to campaign for the detox centre. “At the moment people have to wait six weeks to be admitted but some people, whether through drink or drugs, don’t have that time and can’t wait that long,” he said.
