A series of meetings advising the public on how to cope with Arctic-type weather are to take place in Derry.
The City Council hopes to finalise dates for the meetings in the coming weeks.
Seminars will be held in centres throughout the Council area and will last a maximum of two to three hours.
Council will discuss the issue at this week’s Environmental Services Committee meeting.
Council’s Building Control Department is planning to organise a number of seminars, in partnership with local community organisations, to give guidance and advice “which may help eliminate or reduce the possibility of the adverse weather causing damage to property”.
Speakers at the event will, according to Council, be experienced competent persons who will be best placed to explain best practice in protecting property and preventing the possibility of damage occurring.
