Two men arrested in Derry in connection with two pipe bomb attacks in the city have been released unconditionally.

The 32 year old and a 40 year old were arrested on Monday morning in connection to the attacks on the homes at Lincoln Court and Clooney at the weekend.

A Derry city councillor said the two Romanian families targeted in Saturday’s pipe bomb attacks were ‘lucky to be alive’.

“Anyone who plants a pipe bomb in a built up area has nothing but utter contempt for the safety of those around them, “ SDLP councillor Gerard Diver said.

Both attacks occurred at around 1:30am on Saturday morning.
