Minister appoints Gerard Finnegan new chairman of NWRC governors

The north’s Employment and learning Minister has appointed a new chair of the North West Regional College’s Board (NWRC) of Governors.

Gerard Finnegan, a former head of InvestNI in the north west who has also worked for Ilex, was announced as the new chairman during a visit to NWRC by Minister Stephen Farry on Friday.

“I am confident this appointment will ensure that the College has the strategic leadership in place to ensure NWRC delivers on its primary goal of up-skilling the local population and contributing to the economic development of the North West region,” Dr Farry said.

Mr Finnegan takes up his new role on April 1 and will have responsibility for the College’s strategic direction and it’s effective and efficient management.

A qualified chartered accountant, Mr Finnegan, a former Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers a runs his own practice, Sea Change Consulting.
