The Irish Embassy in Paris have confirmed that missing Donegal teenager Lee McLaughlin has been found ‘safe and well’.
Appeals to help find the missing Gleneely man had been released across Facebook and Twitter after he failed to return home yesterday.
The Football Association of Ireland had also issued an appeal to all Republic of Ireland supporters in Paris to assist in locating Lee. They too have tweeted “We can confirm that missing supporter Lee McLaughlin has been found safe and well. Thank you to everyone that assisted. #COYBIG.”
Lee McLaughlin (19) from Gleneely arrived in Paris on Sunday with his father and another family member, and was due to fly back home to Ireland yesterday (Tuesday June 14) but did not turn up for his flight.
They attended Ireland’s opening Group E match v Sweden at the Stade de France on Monday evening before they returned to their hotel in Montmartre several hours after the game.
