Grammy Award winning DJ and producerAfrojack is to Crash Ebrington Square this September, supported by Katy B. The award winning artists were this morning announced as headliners to perform alongside rapper and singer-songwriter, Professor Green, and the Grammy nominated MNEK in a stunning night of entertainment taking place in Derry on September 19.
The much anticipated talent announcement was made by MTV this morning, and will be followed in the coming days by the line-up for the Club MTV DJ event taking place on September 20.
Speaking after the announcement Mayor of Derry Councillor Brenda Stevenson said she was thrilled that one of the biggest names in Electronic Dance Music would be performing in the city: “I am delighted to hear the news that Afrojack will be headlining the MTV Crashes event, with support from Katy B, who was such a great champion for the city during our Culture year. This completes our Friday night line up, which promises to be an unforgettable evening of music in our beautiful Ebrington Square.
“And with more talent still to be announced for the Club MTV night on Saturday, and the citywide Music Trail on Sunday, this is just the first night in a weekend celebration of music that will once again put Derry on the map in terms of hosting world class events.”
Tickets for both concerts sold in an unbelievable 40 seconds, a new record for MTV Crashes events, and 10,000 music fans will fill the stunning riverside concert venue each night.
Sunday evening will see the music celebrations continue for a third evening with the Music Trail, featuring even more top class talent, who will take to a number of stages across the city.
