A man accused of a city centre murder has been released into police custody to be questioned in relation to other matters.
Kieran McLaughlin, of Elaghmore Park, is currently on remand accused of the murder of Barry McCrory in a city centre flat on October 10 last year.
The 58-year-old is further charged with possessing a firearm on October 16.
A police constable made an application for McLaughlin to be released into police custody for 24 hours.
He confirmed that this was for questioning about matters that are unrelated to the offences McLaughlin is currently in custody for.
The 58-year-old will be returned to court by 11:30am tomorrow.
