A new musical theatre masterclass is on offer at The Millennium Forum.
This unique opportunity will provide training on audition techniques, acting through song, vocal anatomy and text and performance with one-to-one critique and direction.
Local actress Orla Mullan will host the four weekly sessions, while local musician Alan Wright will provide the accompaniment. Limavady born Orla, trained professionally at Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) graduating with a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Acting, in 2005. She was also a 2005 Spotlight Prize nominee.
Orla played The Fairy Godmother in The Millennium Forum’s pantomime, Cinderella and is currently involved in the Ebrington Alive project in the Waterside.
Alan Wright trained at the RSAMD and the University of Ulster. Currently he is a private singing tutor and assistant musical director for the Millennium Forum’s Christmas pantomime and the summer youth musical.
The first workshop runs today from 2pm at The Forum’s green room. There are further classes on Sunday 18 and 25 from 2pm-6pm at The Millennium Forum Theatre (Green Room)
Maximum of 10 people per session and participants must be over 14 years of age. Each session costs £50 per person and all applicants should bring two songs (with sheet music) they would like to work on.
