Caife Failte, the Irish language café in An Chultúrlann, have achieved top marks from mystery shoppers.

Staff from the café undertook retail training delivered by Full Circle Management Solutions Ltd on behalf of Derry City Council.

As part of the training the café was visited on two occasions by mystery shoppers and on each occasion achieved 99 and 98 marks from a possible 100.

Siobhan Ní Eára, the café manageress said: “We are absolutely delighted with our achievements, especially as the mystery shoppers are specifically looking for things to criticise. It was important for us to have a second visit from a mystery shopper as this confirmed the findings of the first one.”

She continued: “We have always known that our café serves good food at great value and that our staff are all excellent but this achievement has recognised our qualities.”

Some of the comments of the mystery shoppers included:

“I really liked this cafe as it is located in a unique space and has a homely feel. The cafe has a good selection of food to choose from and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming.

“As the cafe is located within the Culturlann building it gives it a traditional Irish edge that many visitors to the city would love.

“The seating area is quite pleasant and cleaned to a high standard. I had a nice view of the interior building. It has a contemporary feel.”
