Need for foster families reaches ‘emergency levels’

The Western Health and Social Care Trust has issued an urgent appeal for foster families as the level of need reaches “emergency levels.”

Using the occasion of Foster Care Fortnight, May 14-28, to call for more foster families to come forward, the Trust will hold a number of information sessions in the coming week.

Dympna Brogan, Recruitment Team Manager, Western Trust said: “We are asking the public to come and meet our staff at information evenings which are being hosted across the Trust area. Families are urgently required to provide safe, stable and nurturing homes for vulnerable children and young people across Northern Ireland.”

The information sessions will be held on Monday 14 at Da Vinci’s Hotel, (7.30pm-9pm), Tuesday May 15, South West College, Omagh Camus (7.30pm - 9pm).
