New play park included in plan for Ballyarnett
The Ballyarnett Country Park Steering Group this week reviewed the final plans for the play park.
The play park is one of a number of major projects expected to be introduced at the park, which encompasses a large 110-acre tract of land off Ballyarnett Road.

“The Ballyarnett Country Park can provide a wide range of opportunities and act as a catalyst for the regeneration of the area.
“This is one of best assets this city has but has been under-utilised for many years. And I believe it has nowhere reached its full potential yet in providing parklands and facilities for residents in the local area and for the city as a whole.”
Councillor Hassan added: “The plans include additional play facilities, biodiversity projects, walking and cycling routes and act as a venue for the arts and sporting sectors.

The park, which includes lakes and peat bogs is also a haven for local wildlife.
