New priests for Clonmany and Culdaff

Clonmany and Culdaff will receive a new Parish Priest and curate following clerical changes in the diocese, announced by Bishop of Derry, Most Rev Donal McKeown.

The changes, effective from August 21st will see Fr. Brian Brady, PP Errigal as PP Clonmany and PP Culdaff, residing in Clonmany, as well as Vicar Forane for the Inishowen Deanery.

The current PP of Clonmany, Fr Fintan Diggin, is to be PP Errigal.

Fr. James McGonagle, PP Culdaff and Vicar Forane for the Inishowen Deanery is to retire.

Fr. James McGrory, Judicial Vicar of the Armagh Regional Marriage Tribunal is to be CC Clonmany and CC Culdaff, residing in Culdaff.

Other appointments include that or newly-ordained Fr Sean O’Donnell from Muff, who will be CC Glendermott and CC Strathfoyle.

Bishop McKeown, has also announced the recent retirement of Fr. George Doherty as CC Desertegney and Lower Fahan.

Fr. Gerard Sweeney, formerly CC of Burt, Inch and Fahan before his appointment as PP Ardstraw East (Newtownstewart), will now be PP Leckpatrick.

Fr. Michael Porter, formerly CC Burt, Inch and Fahan and now PP Leckpatrick is to be PP Urney and Castlefin;
