The local council has reiterated its message on appropriate use of cameras and mobile phones in the new Foyle Arena centre on the Limavady Road.

The move comes after a member of the public contacted the Journal reporting that he had seen someone taking pictures in the communal changing area. The council say while they are not aware of anyone being asked to leave the centre, a spokesperson from Derry City and Strabane District Council explained that cameras and mobile devices are not permitted to be used in a number of areas at the Foyle Arena.

“Signage is displayed across the centre reminding the public of this policy and staff are trained to advise customers of the policy,” she added.
