The North West is taking Glastonbury by storm with local singers SOAK, Cara Dillon and Rainy Boy Sleep all set to perform this weekend.
The festival is one of the biggest in the world and, among the acts this weekend, is folk singer Cara Dillon who can’t wait to be on stage with her band.
Rainy Boy Sleep, aka Stevie Martin, from Lifford will play tonight on the John Peel stage while Derry’s SOAK is also amomg the acts. It’s the fourth time at Glastonbuty for Stevie and he wants to make sure this he enjoys every minute.
“We are very excited about Glastonbury,” said Cara, who played at the Somerset festival over 10 years ago. Cara and husband Sam Lakeman are also among the artists performing during the BBC live coverage on Saturday.
Some 177,000 people are due on site during the weekend. Tickets sold out in less than half an hour when they went on sale last year.
This year’s headliners are chart-topping singer Florence and the Machine, US rapper Kanye West and rock legends The Who.
