Inishowen enjoyed yet another spectacular lights show on Thursday night as the Northern Lights danced in the skies above the peninsula.

These spectacular images were snapped in Malin Head by photographer Adam Rory Porter, who is well known for his images of the Northern Lights -also known as the Aurora Borealis - in Inishowen.

He told the Journal: “I joined fellow Aurora hunters Rónán McLaughlin and his son Óisín, after his spot on optimistic predictions of a good chance of tonight’s event. Mark McLaughlin from Buncrana Camera Club got me out of the house and off to Malin we went!

He added: “The skies danced in green - white formations and pillars of light to the naked eye. Then the camera caught even more intense greens, pinks and even purple-blue tones. Before the moon rose it was spectacular and even after the moon climbed into the sky it was still amazing! All in all, an absolutely fabulous night.”
