The Derry Diocese has confirmed that the speaker for the Triduum will be Fr Eugene Mc Caffrey from the Order of Discalced Carmelites.

Fr Eugene is a well known writer of many books on St. Therese, and he will talk on the importance of St. Therese for the Christian today.

Accommodation is available for anyone who may wish to stay for the full period of the Triduum.

Meanwhile an ‘Our Lady, Untier of Knots Novena’ will begin after 7.30pm Mass at St Eugene’s Cathedral on Thursday, September 29.

The Novena will continue for the following eight Thursdays, finishing on Thursday, November 24.

A spokesperson for the parish said: “Do you have some ‘knots’ in your life? Knots of discord in your family, knots of deep hurts in relationships, the absence of peace and joy in the home?

“Sometimes our lives may seem one big knot due to circumstances beyond our control when we face health problems. This Novena reminds us that sin never entangled Our Lady; that Christ gave His Mother to be our Mother, the Untier of Knots. We pray and entrust our specific ‘knots’ to Her loving hands, learning how to let go of that which binds us.”
